FINDING YOURSELF IN THE DARK HAS ARRIVED

All 350 copies of Finding Yourself in the Dark by Steve Duffy have, at last, touched down here in stormy France.

I’d like to apologise to everyone who has been waiting on publication for the delay with this one.

I had a couple of minor issues with the dust jacket proof which set me back a few days, and my printer has been very busy and has taken a couple of weeks or so longer than usual.

I’ll now work very hard to get all pre-publication orders (around 330 of the 350 are currently spoken for) checked, numbered, packed and posted as fast as humanly possible.

But please remember, Sarob Press is just me and that things will take a bit longer than usual ... thanks to Brexit I now have to complete and attach two separate forms of customs paperwork to each packet (or parcel) leaving France for destinations outside the EU (and one has to be filled in online and then printed); and my local post mistress tells me that, as all these must now be scanned and input separately (and she’s also on her own and only open mornings), she can probably only handle around 20-25 packets/parcels from me each day.

So, please be extra patient.

I will get there ... many thanks for your understanding.

Keep safe everyone.

Cheers, Robert.

FINDING YOURSELF IN THE DARK ~ NEW TITLE NEWS

NEW TITLE NEWS

FINDING YOURSELF IN THE DARK (a collection) by STEVE DUFFY

Sarob Press is truly delighted to present a new collection of twelve dark and spectral tales by International Horror Guild and Shirley Jackson Award winning author Steve Duffy. Steve’s previously published collections, The Night Comes On, The Five Quarters (with Ian Rodwell), Tragic Life Stories and The Moment of Panic, were very well received and are all long sold out. ... a seaside holiday where the past intrudes upon the present with alarming and quite horrifying consequences

... a dream-like European hotel for those with fond and vivid memories of better and more peaceful times

... a seemingly ordinary warehouse where the secret things and strange desires stored within are far, far from ordinary

... and 8 other superlative tales set in London, in Eastern Europe, the Wild West of America, the North Wales coast and more.

STOCK/TITLE UPDATE

I’m hoping to be ready to announce the first very exciting Sarob Press title of 2021 (a 12-story collection by Shirley Jackson Award winner Steve Duffy) within around two or three weeks.

Watch this space as they say.

In the meantime, just a reminder to folk that our December 2020 title, Ill Met By Darkness (four original ‘folkish-horror’ novelettes/novellas by the ever excellent Paul Finch) is in stock and still available to order.

Also currently available (but both low stock) is Their Dark & Secret Alchemy (novellas by Richard Gavin, Colin Insole and Damian Murphy) and Legionnaire (a signed stand-alone ghostly novella by C.E. Ward with quite amazing ~ and terrifying (see here) ~ wrap-jacket art by the brilliant Paul Lowe).

Take care and keep safe everyone.

Cheers, Robert.

RON WEIGHELL R.I.P.

Very saddened to hear that Ron Weighell has passed away.

A friend, a lovely man and a brilliant and wonderful writer who will be much missed.

I am extremely proud to have published his story collections “Summonings” and the revised “The White Road”, and three novellas for the shared volumes (with John Howard and Mark Valentine) “Romances of the White Day”, “Pagan Triptych” and “From Ancient Ravens”.

My truly heartfelt and sincere condolences to his wife Fran and to all his family and friends.

R.I.P. Ron.

Keep safe and well everyone, Robert.
