A Second Ghosts & Scholars Book of Folk Horror has been with my printer since the beginning of October and is currently in production.
My
printer has however now informed me that the usual 3 week production timescale
has, unfortunately, been extended due to a heavy workload their end and not to
expect delivery (to me) before the 1 December (earliest).
And
this is without any courier delays (regular friends will know of my problems
with late/delayed courier deliveries to my rural location).
This
is clearly not the best time for the books to arrive here with Christmas (and
the usual seasonal postal carnage) approaching. It usually takes me two weeks
to check, number and pack orders… so it is appearing somewhat unlikely I’ll have
everything ready to get to the UK by the recommended Royal Mail last posting
dates for Christmas ~ and if that’s the case, it’d probably be far better if I don’t ship
until immediately after the Christmas hullabaloo (I wouldn’t want anyone’s book
to be lost in the Christmas mayhem).
I’m
truly very sorry about this delay… a bit out of my hands (and a little unexpected)
but still hugely frustrating (to say the least) as I thought I’d timed
everything just right for a second week November publication.
I
just hope you all think it’ll be worth the wait… the jacket art is absolutely
brilliant! And editor Rosemary Pardoe thinks this one is even better than the
first Ghosts & Scholars folk horror volume.
Watch
this space as they say… I’ll update again when the books are to hand and I’m far
more certain of posting dates.
Cheers,
Robert.
